The Codex of Victory - Part One: The TRUE Story Behind the MAHABHARATA

It is said that the history is written by the victors. This maxim is certainly true in case of the Mahabharata. It is wrongly believed that sage Ved Vyasa wrote the Mahabharata. The fact is that the epic that he wrote was called Jaya-Samhita. Jaya-Samhita literally meaning the Codex of Victory was a treatise on war, politics and religion. It contained the truth about the great war at Kurukshetra and answered the fundamental question - why some win while others lose?
The Mahabharata on the other hand, literally meaning the great Bharata or Arjuna, was written with the sole aim of glorifying Arjuna by his descendants. That is why one finds so many legends and inconsistencies in the Mahabharata. Each one of these legend is an attempt to hide some ugly truth. The Mahabharata is a classic example of the victors hiding the flaws in their character and portraying the vanquished as the villains.
Through this book the author attempts to rewrite the original epic as it was written thousands of years ago by sage Ved Vyasa himself. This book, as the subtitle suggests, tells the true story behind the Mahabharata in all its naked glory.
