Radioactive waste management and contaminated site clean-up: Processes, technologies and international experience

Radioactive waste management is critical to the use of nuclear power, radioisotopes in research, medicine and industry and to the clean-up of materials in nuclear weapon programs. While many wastes are well understood and have appropriate treatment and conditioning technologies applied to them, others, and newer wastes, require additional input to help control and contain them safely and securely.
